Proofreading Assignments and CV

Client’s Requirements: Mason needed us to proofread three of his assignments, checking for grammar, punctuation, and spelling, as well as including references and citations in his work. He also wanted us to proofread his CV for future job applications. We agreed on a deadline of three weeks for both tasks.
How We Helped: We first corrected any spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors in his work. Although not part of our proofreading service, we proposed a few changes to some sentences to make them consistent in tone and style with the rest of the document and be more appropriate to the reader. We also advised him, though not included in our proofreading service, that there should be a cover page and page numbers in the assignments to make the assignments more professional and in accordance with the university regulations. After the work was proofread, suggestions and feedback was given on how to introduce a cover page, table of contents page, headings and subheadings, page numbers, and appendices for any future assignments he may have to complete.
Mason’s CV detailed his experience, qualifications, and skills very well. However, some sentences were very long and did not need to be included in his CV. We first fixed the grammatical errors in his CV, by adding full stops and commas where necessary. Then, we reduced the length of some sentences by removing redundant words and repeated text. Finally, we proposed for certain sentences to be removed as they did not add any value to his CV, which would help make his CV shorter, ‘straight to the point’, and easier to read.
End Result: His assignments and CV were both returned in two weeks. Mason got a very good grade on each of his three assignments, which he was very pleased about. Mason also managed to get the job that he was looking for. Mason is still using our services today and is a regular client of ours.
