Proofreading, Copyediting and Formatting University Application Statements

Client’s Requirements: Mohammad wanted to apply to two universities in the UK to study a MSc in Marketing, and therefore wanted his university application statements to be proofread, copyedited and formatted appropriately according to each university’s requirements to put him in good stead to secure his position at these universities. We agreed a deadline of seven days for the work to be completed.
How We Helped: We started off by reading each university’s requirements to identify what information is needed to be included in the application statements. After having done so, we then asked Mohammad for all of the relevant information we needed, including his previous work experience, relevant qualifications and courses, skills, hobbies, and future career path (Mohammad had already mentioned the other requirements in his statements), which he ended up providing us with. The last thing we did before starting to work on his application statements was conducting research about the two universities, including what type of students they were looking for, the course requirements, university facilities, clubs and social activities, and what qualifications or courses would help in the application. With this in mind, we began to copyedit Mohammad’s application statements by making sure all of the information was relevant and in accordance with the university’s requirements. We included his previous work experience, relevant qualifications and courses, skills, hobbies, and future career path, as this vital information was missing from both application statements, along with making the existing information in the statements clearer and easier to understand. We then made sure that the text was free from any English errors and was consistent throughout. Lastly, the text was formatted appropriately according to the requirements of the respective university, by amending the text style, font, size, line spacing, bold and italics of words, and making sure the statement was within 2 pages.
End Result: We returned the work to Mohammad in 5 days, within the agreed deadline. Mohammad was ecstatic and grateful for our services and went on to leave us a great review. Mohammad has let us know that he is now significantly more confident in his chances of securing a place at both universities.
